ConAgra Foods is recalling 54,673 pounds of chicken noodle soup because they were not properly labeled and have unidentified substances the United States Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service reported on their website Tuesday.
The soup which has wheat and egg, considered allergens, are not listed on the product's label which reads: Healthy Choice Chicken with Rice soup.
"The problem was reported to the firm by consumers who discovered chicken noodle soup in mislabeled bowls," the service said in a statement on their website. "FSIS and the company have received no reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider," the service said in a statement on their website.
"FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to ensure that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers."
The recall includes 14 ounce microwave bowls of Healthy Choice Chicken with Rice soup products that have P-770 as the establishment number the service reported on their website. The number is listed on the USDA's mark of inspection label on the product's container. The soup's best buy date is June 9, 2015 can be found on the underside of the bowl
The soup was made Dec. 16, 2013, and distributed to stores throughout the country along with Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and Jamacia.
