Fans of Anna and Elsa can't wait to watch "Frozen 2" but the plot hasn't been revealed yet since the release date is still on 2018.
The only thing that is confirmed is the partial cast of the Disney sequel. Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell will return in the second installment since they do the voice of the lead characters.
Both actresses still have no idea what the plot will be since Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck are still working on it. During an interview with Billboard, the singer was asked what fans can expect in "Frozen 2" but she wasn't able to give any details about it.
"Honestly, I think they're in the writing/creative stages, so there's not much to talk about, other than we're really excited that there's a future," Menzel admitted.
Another thing that's confirmed is the setting of "Frozen 2." During the official announcement, John Lasseter of Walt Disney revealed the reason why they decided to do a second installment and shares some details about it.
"We enjoyed making 'Frozen Fever' so much and being back in that world with those characters," Lasseter said. "Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have come up with a great idea for a sequel and you will be hearing a lot more about it and we're taking you back to Arendelle. We are so excited about that."
Upon hearing that announcement, many fans were wondering why the release date was scheduled in 2018 since that's still over two years from now.
According to The Telegraph, Disney still has three films due for release before 2018 including "Moana" and the songwriters have to write a new score for the stage musical which was part of their plan.
"We're not demanding speed," Robert Iger of Disney said. "We're demanding excellence."
With regards to the plot, Master Herald reported that "Frozen 2" will have a sad ending for Anna and Elsa. Director Chris Buck revealed to Movie News Guide that the sequel will focus on the sisters' character development individually.
However, he also says that there is still a lot of things that he needs to figure out.
