Hershey's new chocolate spreads come in chocolate, chocolate with almond, and chocolate with hazelnut a press release reported.
The jars, which allows Hershey to maintain strides with rival Nutella can be found in convenience stores throughout the country for $3.79 each the press release reported.
Hershey is implementing its marketing campaign, it initiated in the fourth fiscal quarter last year, and is keeping in 2014 the press release reported.
"The average American snacks more than two times a day and what better way to transform everyday snacks into delicious treats, than with the genuine chocolate flavor that only Hershey can deliver," Anna Lingeris, a spokesperson at The Hershey Company said in a statement "We have been delivering genuine chocolate experiences in a variety of forms for 120 years and our legacy as the leader in chocolate continues with Hershey's Spreads," Lingeris said in the statement.
The spreads go with many combinations including graham crackers, strawberries, bananas, celery, pineapples, and pickles the press release reported.
Hershey's over 80 products include reeses, kisses, bliss, special dark chocolate product, kit kat, twizzlers, jolly ranchers, and ice breakers the press release reported. These bring the sweet maker over $6.6 billion in sales according to the press release.
Hershey also makes a milk chocolate bar, syrup, and cocoa the press release reported.
Hershey is expanding globally in China, Mexico, and Brazil the press release reported. Hershey's growth efforts also include the United States and Canada so it can keep a leg up in the market the press release reported.
Smuckers joined the spread mix in 2012 with jif hazelnut spreads Fox News reported. Nutella is currently found on breakfast buffets with cereal, coffee, and jellies Fox News reported.
Nutella, a chocolate peanut butter spread made over $240.4 million in revenue in the previous five years Fox News reported.
