An 18 year-old college student discovered a tooth in a bag of spanish peanuts from Safeway he was eating on New Years Eve Yahoo's odd news reported Tuesday.
Graham Calder picked up what he thought was a peanut, but later found out it wasn't when chomping down on with his girlfriend Michaela Epp by his side The Winnipeg Sun reported
"He spit it out and looked at it, and it was a tooth," Epp told The Sun. "So he started feeling around to make sure it wasn't his "It definitely didn't look like someone's tooth had just broken off," Epp told The Sun. "It happened about 15 minutes after midnight, my boyfriend looked me and said, 'That's one way to start things. Calder and Epp bought the peanuts from at the Safeway store in Osborne Village in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada according to information from tripadvisor.
Calder and Epp were touring Winnipeg on vacation from their studies The Sun reported. Calder attends the University of Lethbridge in Alberta and Epp goes to the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg The Sun reported.
The couple notified Safeway who plans to look into incident after test results come back The Sun reported.
"Safeway is committed to industry leading food safety standards and we will cooperate fully with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency in their investigation," Betty Kellsey, a spokeswoman for Safeway said in a statement The Sun reported.
"I personally just want them to look at it and see that this problem gets solved," Epp told The Sun.
Ten similar incidents occurred before Calders, and Epps including Atlanta woman discovering a nose ring in the McDonald's breakfast burrito her daughter was consuming The Sun reported.
