AT&T Offers T-Mobile Customers $450 to Change Carriers

Customers who switch from T-Mobile to AT&T will receive a maximum $450 CNET reported Friday.

Consumers who exchange their phone for a new one get $200. T-Mobile customers opting to transfer their service to AT&T get $250 CNET reported.

"Wireless has always been a very competitive industry and a move like this should not be unexpected," a representative from AT&T told CNET. "As you know, there are handset promotions all the time.

while this promotion is targeted to T-Mobile customers, Sprint and Verizon customers can get a minimum $100 trade-in when they choose Next, plus pay only $25 per smartphone on Mobile Share Value plans," the representative told CNET.

The deal depends on what kind of phone a consumers brings in, how old it is, and the shape its in CNET reported.

"(Promotion cards) can only be used "toward purchases of eligible AT&T products and services or to pay your wireless bill," the representative told CNET.

T-Mobile could unveil plans for a promotion resembling AT&T's at the Consumer Electronics Show. The deal would be available for people who want to change to the carrier CNET reported.

The Mobile Share Value plans give customers a savings of $15 a month with the purchase of a new smartphone with no money upfront via AT&T Next, a payment plan that enables consumers to get hot new devices right away, which they can pay back in increments the compnay said in a press release. Users with phones for 18-months under a 26-month payment plan are going to be eligible for a free upgrade when money is put toward the phone for a year and a half the press release reported.

Consumers will also receive savings when they buy a smartphone at its regular price, or when their phone's contract expires, and they purchase one of the new plans. All consumers will have shared data, and unlimited talk, and text.

Families can use a maximum 10 devices such as tablet computers, and wireless gadgets on the same plan. Those using the phone for business purposes, will be able to use 10, 15, 20, or 25 components contingent upon the type of plan used.

Unlimited talk and text options with 300 megabytes of data are available for $45 each month. Consumers can include extra lines on eligible phones to all Mobile Share Value

Plans at $20 a month. There are also plans for those wanting memory anywhere between one gigabyte and 50 gigabytes.

Users also get access to the company's nationwide Wi-Fi network free of charge.
