Wendy's Sells; Negotiates 30 Austin, Texas; 19 Sacramento Restaurants to Franchisees

Wendy's selling or agreement to market off 30 Austin, Texas restaurants, and 19 locations in Sacramento Friday continues on the road to renovating its food establishments the company said in a press release.

Two hundred and eighty two locations are now part of transactions or been dealt the press release reported.
These include restaurants in Kansas City, Phoenix, Portland, Salt Lake City, Seattle and St. Louis the press release reported.

"Ali Dhanani and Craig Horn are terrific operators with a strong customer orientation," Emil Brolick, president and CEO at Wendy's said in a statement. "Both of their organizations understand the importance of operational excellence, have a strong balance sheet and are fully committed to restaurant re-imaging. We know their teams will work diligently to further accelerate the growth of the Wendy's brand in their respective markets."

HAZA Foods has acquired Wendy's locations. The Sacramento franchises belong to Desmond Foods. The company has been a part of Wendy's dating back to 1973 under president and chief financial officer Craig Horn's directon.

Wendy's hopes the transactions bring in more income, and increase revenue, and improve the money it makes through a system that estimates revenue via profits from royalty, and rent.

Wendy's expects to build 25 new locations under the new theme, while renovating 100 additional ones The Columbus Dispatch reported. Forty are expected to have the company's new vision while 150 have applied since updates began in 2011.

Wendy's opened its first restaurant with the new digs last week in Dublin, Ohio, the birthplace of the company according to Columbus Business First.

Work on the 4,000 square-foot structure, slightly larger than a typical restaurant of its size, began in August, and was completed for opening Tuesday The Dispatch reported.Wendy's shut down and destroyed a nearby location west of the construction site.
