Franchise Herald gives the Top 5 changes Burger King made in 2013 to adapt to the times, provide healthier food, and improve business.
Satisfries:
Burger King introduced Satisfries in August in order to provide a healthier food item. The food item competes with McDonald's, and has 30 percent less fat and 20 percent fewer calories than its classic fries. The fries also have 40 percent less fat and 30 percent few calories than McDonald's fries, and sell for 20 to 30 cents more than regular fries except in kids meals where there is no price change. USA Today reported.
Satisfries use the same potatoes, same oil, and same process as regular fries to produce its healthier fries. The only difference is a re-configuring of a few ingredients so the thinner batter does not absorb as much oil USA Today reported. The company is not revealing what ingredients it changed around.
First Pulled Pork Sandwich:
Burger King dived in the BBQ sandwich realm for the second time in the last three years with the pulled pork sandwich in order to maintain strides with McDonald's McRib.
The franchise restaurant chain offers two sandwiches in the Memphis BBQ pulled pork sandwich, and the Carolina BBQ sandwich.
Black Ninja Bacon Burger:
Burger King unveiled its Black Ninja Bacon Burger in October. The food is equipped with a black bun from bamboo, a burger with a hashbrown, bacon, lettuce, onions, ketchup and mayonnaise.
Burger King in Paris France's Saint Lazare train station:
The franchise restaurant chain opened its fourth location in Paris France's Saint Lazare train station Dec. 17 Bloomberg.com reported at the time.
This comes after french restaurant company Bertrand, and Naxicap inked a document for the expansion, and separate franchises. The restaurant has created over 1,200 jobs.
