Dunkin' Donuts has announced in a press release that they will begin testing their On-The-Go Ordering and Dunkin' Delivery at select U.S. markets.
The new program will allow Dunkin' Donuts to make their products more accessible to their customers.
Dunkin' Donuts said in the press release that starting this week they will be testing the mobile On-The-Go Ordering in Portland, Maine.
Members of the DD Perks Rewards Program can download the On-The-Go Ordering app and be able to order in advance using their mobile phones.
Dunkin' Donuts adds in the press release that the ordering app allows customers to go straight to the pickup and get their order.
Customers can place a mobile order for up to 24 hours in advance and then just confirm the order via the app when they are already at the selected branch.
Dunkin' Donuts adds in the press release that they will also begin testing the Dunkin' Delivery in Dallas, Texas.
Residents in Dallas can use the on-demand delivery service DoorDash to order their Dunkin' Donuts products with the click of a button.
Dunkin' Donuts adds in the press release that from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m., customers can place their select and purchase their favorite Dunkin' Donuts products and have them delivered within 45 minutes.
The Dunkin' Delivery will be available in Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles and Washington D.C. in the coming weeks.
Scott Hudler, the vice president of Global Consumer Engagement at Dunkin' Donuts, said in the press release that the company is "committed to seeking new ways" to make their products "even more accessible."
"Both Dunkin' Delivery and On-the-Go Ordering offer people more convenient ways to enjoy our wide array of food and beverages," he said. "The ability to skip the line to order your favorite coffee, donut or sandwich any time of day, or to have Dunkin' items delivered directly to you are two things that our guests have been requesting for some time."
Bloomberg adds that the move could help Dunkin' Donuts as the company is facing more competition for morning meals.
Restaurants like Taco Bell and McDonald's have been advertising their breakfast burritos and Egg McMuffins, respectively.
Bloomberg adds that the move also comes as restaurants chains are competing to draw in customers with the fastest and most convenient options.
Simple mobile ordering and delivery allow companies to hook customers, potentially build loyalty, and increase sales.
