| By

Chrysler Dodge is pulling back 374 dodge dart vehicle because of an issue with their airbags the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported Friday.

"In the affected vehicles, the front seat mounted side airbags (SAB) may not have been properly installed into the seat," the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in the recall section of their website. In the event of a crash necessitating SAB deployment, the SABs may fail to deploy as intended, increasing the risk of injury."

The recall involves dart cars made from May 10, and August 24, that come with the Mopar 13 trim package.

Chrysler will inform drivers if they have an affected vehicle, and examine how each car's side airbag is installed at no cost.

Drivers with questions can call Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403, using the recall number N61.

The news is the latest development with the Darts since the company called back 15,000 vehicles in June because of engine issues The Wall Street Journal reported.

Twelve-thousand nine-hundred of the affected vehicles were in the United States. One-thousand nine hundred existed in Canada, with another five in Mexico, and 16 others not in U.S.

Chrysler also had to recall 254,000 Darts from 2010-2012 because of issues with its airbag.

The group also put the halt on 180,000 jeep wranglers made from 2012 to 2013 because fluid from the vehicle's fluid line, which is wired to its transmission, could come out.

The company also recalled 1.2 million trucks last month because their steering system tie rods could go off their tracks The Detroit News reported at the time.

One-hundred eight thousand, eight hundred sixty-three Dart cars have been made since Chrysler began manufacturing them last year.

Chrysler saw 7,448 Darts bought in May. The numbers trailed competing vehicles Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Chevrolet Cruze, and Ford Focus.
