Many people were surprised when Marvel and Sony announced that Tom Holland will be the new Spider-Man.
First of all, he wasn't a fan favorite unlike Dylan O'Brien of "The Maze Runner" series and Logan Lerman of the "Percy Jackson" series.
According to Marvel, the studios and producers Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige conducted an extensive search and were impressed by the 19-year-old actor's performance in "The Impossible", "Wolf Hall" and "In The Heart of The Sea."
"Sony, Marvel, Kevin and I all knew that for Peter Parker, we had to find a vibrant, talented young actor capable of embodying one of the most well-known characters in the world," Amy Pascal of Sony explained. "With Tom, we've found the perfect actor to bring Spider-Man's story into the Marvel Cinematic Universe."
In the latest video shared by Tom Holland on Instagram, many followers were amazed by his flipping skills which could be a preview of the Spider-Man moves that he'll be doing in "Captain America: Civil War" where he will be debuting as Peter Parker. Check out the video below:
Based on his caption, it seems that he hasn't been in the gym for quite some time and he has been trying out a new equipment which he could be using for the shoot.
Tom Holland also showed his makeover on Instagram asking his followers if he had a new hair cut or had the Johnny Depp look.
Before the British young actor bagged the Peter Parker role, he seems to have a premonition that he will be the next Spider-Man. Two years ago, a reporter asked Tom Holland what superhero he would like to play. "I-I don't know, what kind of superhero would I want to play? Maybe...maybe Spider-Man in like ten years time, maybe!" he said.
"Get ready for the re-boot of the re-boot!" the reported joked. "The re-boot of the re-boot? If they made one,*shrugs* I don't know!" the actor replied. He also shared a photo of his old Spider-Man costume when he was still a toddler. "A trip down memory lane... Thanks mum for keeping this," he wrote on Instagram.
Maybe Tom Holland was really destined to become Spider-Man. Catch him on "Captain America: Civil War" on May 6, 2016 and the untitled "Spider-Man" reboot in 2017.
