Pastor Discovers Bible in Fiction Section of Southern California Costco (VIDEO)

A bible found in the fiction section of a Southern California Costco has created an uproar The Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday.

"Costco has Bibles for sale under the genre of FICTION Hmmmm..." Caleb Kaltenbach pastor of Discovery Church said in a post on his Twitter account.

Kaltenbach was taken aback by the discovery, which he says happened by chance.

"It's caused a lot of controversy, it's caused a lot of conversation, which I think conversation is good," Kaltenbach told The Times.

"I got my wife a jacket," Kaltenbach says in a video interview with Fox New's Elisabeth Hasselbeck. "I figured out that I wasn't communicating with her in her love language very well so I went over to Costco to try and correct that, and I had no idea that all this would happen. "(It) probably was a mistake, I have no idea. The issue highlighted the fact that we do need to be vocal about our faith.

"I never, ever in my entire life had seen a Bible labeled as fiction," Kaltenbach told ABCNews.com. "I just took the picture. I think really what has been revealed is a larger conversation over faith. There are people who are passionate about their faith in Christ and passionate against it."

Shellie Dungan, a member of the church's congregation is one of them.

"I was completely offended," Dungan told KTLA-TV. "It's wrong, and I believe that the Bible is real."

Costco is putting the book back in the non-fiction section so people are not alarmed again.

"(A distributor had mislabeled a) small percentage (of Bibles before sending them to the store," Costco said in a statement to Fox News. "However, we take responsibility and should have caught the mistake. We are correcting this with them for future distribution. In addition, we are immediately relabeling all mislabeled Bibles."
