Target Offers Free Shipping and Return in the U.S. for Holiday Season, Strikes Deal with Borderfree to Offer International Shopping and Shipping

| By

Target Corporation has announced in a press release that it will be bringing back its free shipping and return for the holiday season.

The company also announced that it has partnered with Borderfree Inc. to offer international shopping and shipping to more than 200 countries and territories.

Brian Cornell, the chairman and CEO of Target, said in the press release that the company is starting the holiday season with "momentum" in their business.

"The work we've done throughout the past year puts us in a position to deliver the convenient services and differentiated product our guests count on from Target, especially during the holidays," he said. ""I'm confident that guests will find an easy, inspiring, and most importantly, seamless experience at Target no matter how they choose to shop."

Target said in the press release that the free shipping and return will be available to its customers starting November 1, 2015, until December 25, 2015.

This holiday promo will make it easier for shoppers to shop online.

Aside from free shipping and return during the holiday season, Target is now also available to more than 200 countries and territories, according to the press release.

Through its partnership with Borderfree, Target.com provides shoppers with the ability to pay in almost 60 different currencies.

Target adds in the press release that the partnership allows shoppers to ship their orders to family and friends who live outside the U.S.

Reuters adds that Target's new offerings come as the company has made its differentiated products and stylish merchandise more affordable.

Target is looking to draw in a core customer base of middle-class shoppers as it said last month that it will be matching the price of its largest rivals in-store and online.

Reuters adds that Target currently requires a $25 minimum order to avail of the free shipping and return.

Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. requires an order size of $50 to avail of the free shipping and return for the holiday season while Best Buy will waive its $35 minimum order requirement.
