Pinkberry co-founder, Young Lee, was found guilty Friday for assaulting a homeless man with a tire iron the Associated Press reported.
"(Lee is a) significant threat to the community (because he had threatened a witness at trial," Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Henry Hall said according to the AP.
Lee, 49, was found guilty of assault with a deadly weapon, and has a maximum sentence of up to seven years in prison as punishment when he is sentenced Jan. 14.
Lee approached Daniel Bolding in June 2011, after he reportedly displayed a tattoo, sexual in nature, to many individuals in Lee's car such as his fiancee The AP reported.
Lee then left in his car and later returned with another man. He then hit Bolding two times in the head and fractured his arm during the attack. Witnesses eventually broke up the altercation.
Prosecutors said Lee confronted Daniel Bolding in June 2011 after he flashed a sexually explicit tattoo to several people in Lee's car, including his fiancee. Lee drove away, and came back with another man who'd been in the car and beat Bolding.
"I think there was a sense of entitlement felt by the defendant to the point where he felt he was disrespected by someone he believed to be below him," deputy district attorney Bobby Zoumberakis told the AP.
Bolding has submitted documents for a lawsuit requesting damages from the dilemma.
Lee, who is also an architect established franchise frozen yogurt chain with Shelly Hwang. The initial location was opened in 2005 in West Hollywood, and attracted celebrities, and had lengthy lines.
Lee is not involved with the company anymore, and is incarcerated while he waits for his sentencing date.
According to Harbor Freight, a tire iron is a steel object, and has a chrome plate touch or metal material to make it glisten. Consumers can use the tool with a tire machine for changing tires via holes on its ends or by hand.
Pinkberry is the originator of tart frozen yogurt according to information on its website.
