Hardees and Carls Jr. Menu: Fresh Baked Buns With Thicker Burgers Delivered to Restaurants By Nov. 14

| By

Hardee's has joined the party for franchise restaurant chains serving fresh-baked bread The St. Louis Post Dispatch reported Tuesday.

"We're now not only the only major fast-food chains to offer 100 percent Black Angus beef burgers, but we're also the only ones to bake premium-quality buns for those burgers fresh in our restaurants, every day," Hardee's chief marketing officer Brad Haley said in a statement. "Not many fine-dining restaurants even do that anymore."

Hardee's will serve thicker burgers on the new fresh-baked buns made in its stores daily thanks to the company's and sister restaurant chain Carl's Jr. in-store ovens for making breakfast biscuits.

According to The Post-Dispatch, the new product is sweeter, and more dense than the company's previous bun products. Customers will be able to substitute the buns, which will be a common size for all burgers, and available on a variety of other burgers, and sandwiches the company provides.

The company started to distribute the new product last month, and is expected to have it in all of its locations by Nov. 14.

Hardee's and Carl Jr's news is the latest development in fast food restaurants attempt to alter their menus to attract a variety of different crowds into their stores to boost sales The Dispatch reported.

McDonald's announced changes to its "Dollar Menu and More" selection last week, which now offers items for $1, $2, and $5 verses its original intention of only offering products for $1.

"The dollar menu will have to evolve," John Gordon, founder of Pacific Management Consulting Group told The Los Angeles Times. "If you talk dollar too much, it erodes the customer's perception of you over time - you don't find a Maserati for a dollar. In California, you're not going to see dollar menus for long in the big chains."
