Toyota Spongebob SUV: 2014 Highlander Has 800 Gallon Tank

| By

One hundred and fifteen tropical fish now live in Toyota's 2014 Spongebob Highlander model USA Today reported Wednesday.

"Brett and I love the challenge of designing aquariums in every shape and size and welcomed the opportunity to bring living art like this to SEMA," Wayde King co-owner of Acrylic Tank Manufacturing said in a statement USA Today reported. "The teams at Toyota and Nickelodeon gave us great platforms in the Highlander and SpongeBob SquarePants to create something fun and inspiring for fans." King co-owns the company with Brett Raymer. The two also star together in the Animal Planet show titled "Tanked" and envision discussing the spectacle on one of their upcoming episodes to be shown in March. They will also create other sophisticated fish tanks at the request of celebrities, luxury hotels, casinos, and other leisure venues.

Toyota unveiled its latest model of the sports utility vehicle at the Specialty Equipment Market Association's aftermarket car parts trade show in Las Vegas, Nev. Tuesday.

The whole back of the sports utility vehicle consists of an 800 gallon tank filled with starfish similar to the one in the Spongebob television show named Patrick, squirrelfish, the fiji foxface, flame angel, clownfish, and pilot fish.

The vehicle's tank also has a filtration system, which is meant to keep the species living until the show concludes Friday. There is also an overflow system, sterilizer, UV filter, temperature regulator, and more.

"When we talk about the size and versatility of the new 2014 Highlander, we now can add how many fish swam inside one," Jack Hollis, vice president of marketing for Toyota Motor Sales, said in a statement Newsmax reported. "The 'Tanked' designers and Nickelodeon combined the mystery of the ocean and the fun of SpongeBob into a Highlander everyone will be talking about at SEMA."

The vehicle will head to Orlando, Chicago, Baltimore, Hollywood, San Diego, and Los Angeles when the show concludes Friday.
