You can now purchase Apple's new iPad Air tablet according to USA Today.
This will be followed by the release of the iPad Mini further into the month for $389 and up. This is more than the cost of the device's older model at $329, which has sold 170 million copies to date.
"This is just the beginning for iPad," Tim Cook said in a statement Bloomberg reported. "We have been busy working on the next generation of iPad."
The new 9.7-inch product features a high definition screen, and a slender, and less heavy design product at 20 percent less material than its older models at a weight of one pound. It is available for $499 and up according to Bloomberg.
The iPad Air also has an A7 processing chip giving the device a faster speed, and an M7, just like the ones Apple's iPhone 5s have.
The company has struggled to keep the phone in stock but the issues seem to have been corrected with the iPad Air.
"It appears consumers will have little trouble securing an iPad Air, Apple said in a statement on its website. "Both the silver and space gray models in all storage sizes are available to ship by Monday."
Apple hopes its new product capitalizes on the three million its previous models sold the year prior.
The company introduced the iPad Air at a media event last month in San Francisco where employees unveiled several new gadgets such as Mac OS X software that allows users to keep their information private.
"We still believe deeply in this category and we're not slowing down on our innovations," Cook told Bloomberg.
According to USA Today, there was no one at the Verizon Store in San Francisco's financial district Friday morning who wanted to buy the product.
