Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will be reuniting on the big screen in their upcoming movie "By The Sea," which is scheduled for release on November 13. The two first teamed up in the 2005 film "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" and that's where they reportedly fell in love.
After 10 years, the husband and wife are taking chances by starring in a drama film that's directed and written by the 40-year-old actress. In the new featurette of "By the Sea," Brad and Angie talked about their upcoming movie.
"When I was writing [the script], I never assumed we'd actually do it, so I wrote with a certain kind of freedom," Jolie said as reported by Daily Mail. The 51-year-old actor agreed with his wife and explained why he felt comfortable doing the film.
"We can experiment and play and it's oddly a safer environment than any set I've been on before, so we let loose!" the Hollywood hunk said. The actress echoed her husband by saying: "So we let loose." Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie filmed "By The Sea" during their honeymoon and it was shot in Gozo.
The American drama was set in the '70s and it focuses on the life of former dancer Vanessa and her husband Roland, who is a writer. The couple was growing apart but they started getting close to the locals living in the French countryside.
"Everybody knows that there's never just the tragedy of life or the humor of life or pure joy of life. Relationships have those extremes. You can absolutely madly love the person you want to kill," Jolie said laughingly. "I was so happy that he [Brad] was willing to try this," she added.
Brad Pitt confessed that his fight scenes with Angelina Jolie was challenging. In fact, he said that it was one of the most challenging things he has taken on. The "Maleficent" star agreed to that and admitted during an interview with DGA that she felt heavy while filming those scenes.
"I'd be directing myself and him in a scene where we're having a fight, and I'd be pulling out the parts [of him] that have an aggression toward me or when you're frustrated with each other-it was very heavy," the actress said.
