It took almost ten years before Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt reunite in a movie.
The two met up on the set of the 2005 film "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" and now they are starring in "By The Sea" which is scheduled for release on Nov. 13.
During a recent interview with Vogue via Vanity Fair, the 40-year-old actress claimed that their upcoming film is not autobiographical but admitted that her relationship with her husband isn't perfect.
"Brad and I have our issues, but if the characters' were even remotely close to our problems, we couldn't have made the film," Jolie said.
The "Maleficent" star also revealed that she wrote the script eight years ago when her mother died.
"This is the only film I've done that is completely based on my own crazy mind," she revealed. "When I was writing it, I never assumed we'd actually do it," the actress added.
Angeline Jolie and Brad Pitt called the script the worst idea and the crazy one. However, they took a chance in doing "By The Sea."
"As artists we wanted something that took us out of our comfort zones," she explained. "Just being raw actors. It's not the safest idea. But life is short."
According to Entertainment Weekly, the couple decided to shoot their latest movie during their honeymoon and their children were with them during filming. Angie admitted that she had faced some darker moments with Brad.
"It was an emotionally charged set," she confessed. "Even though the characters are very different from us, when you act you still express real emotion."
The actress also revealed that their kids helped them get out of their character.
"It's impossible to bring your work home with you when you have to snap out of it for your children," she explained. "It wasn't easy for either of us, but when we walked away, we were closer than we had been."
