Do you work at Wal-Mart? If so you may be promoted during one of the company's many events in stores throughout the United States as the holiday shopping season begins a press release on the company's website reported Tuesday.
One hundred and sixty thousand associate employees are expected to move up the ladder to positions that pay more, and bring more responsibilities The Journal reported. Twenty-five thousand of the positions will take place during the company's fourth fiscal quarter.
"Our success from day one is a direct result of our associates and the hard work they do in taking care of our customers. We are proud to provide our people with additional opportunities for career growth and greater economic security for their families," Bill Simon, chief executive officer and United States president of Wal-Mart told The Journal. "Like most Americans, our associates want good jobs and access to a better life. Whether you are a cashier in Charlotte, or a stocker in Dallas or an assistant manager in Los Angeles, Wal-Mart wants to see you succeed."
The company's full-time, and part-time employees can receive bonuses by quarter depending on how they work. Employees also get 10 percent off on the majority of general merchandise, fresh fruits, and vegetables at regular prices. The discount is available at any Wal-Mart store The Journal reported.
"I have been working in retail since I was in high school. I knew I wanted more opportunity to build my career, so when I heard Wal-Mart was coming to town I immediately applied for a job," Yoselin Umana, a grocery department manager at a Wal-Mart store in North Bergen, NJ told The Journal. "I have been with the company for four years now. I know I made the right choice for my career and my family."
