Upon an announcement Wednesday, T-Mobile customers can now receive 200 megabytes of free data a month PC Magazine reported.
"There's no bait and switch, no trial period, and no strings attached," the carrier told PC Magazine.
The new promotion is available on the company's tablet computers, until the devices do not function properly anymore.
"We believe it's time that tablets operate the same way that smartphones do and should be connected and used at all time," T-Mobile chief executive officer John Legere told PC Magazine.
Customers who reach 200MB are eligible to buy $5 day passes to increase their data 500MB in the 4G LTE data format. $10 weekly passes are also available, which have 1 gigabyte of data.
Current T-Mobile voice customers are able to include a tablet in their plan for $10 a month at 500MB of data. An extra 2 gigabytes are also available for $10 more a month. The company will reduce these options for customers when they reach their data limit.
Users who take advantage of the free 200 megabytes will then be asked if they want to purchase more data.
The company also has a plan for Wi-Fi tablet customers who want to change their devices to a cellular format. This entails people the ability to trade in their smartphone, and buy a new tablet.
The new T-Mobile tablet is Google's new Nexus 7. Others include the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 and a variety of Apple's latest iPads.
The Galaxy Tab 2 will be available for $19 a month at its debut Nov. 20. The Nexus 7 is slightly cheaper at $16 a month.
In the iPad world, Apple's new iPad mini with Retina display is priced at $22 a month.
