The new Samsung Galaxy s5 could come with a plastic chassis, faux leather back and a 16 mega pixel camera when it is released in January the Galaxy s5 website reported.
"Samsung knows that people didn't liked the plastic body on Galaxy S4 much, which can be seen in the dropped sales of the phone," Galaxy s5 said on its website. "Faux-leather might work to some extent in giving a premium feel to Galaxy S5."
The new phone will also be available in different colors in black, white, pink, lime, and yellow.
"Though these rumors make much sense, we do however recommend that you take the news with a little pinch of salt at this point in time," Samsung said in a statement on their website Galaxy s5.
According to the website, the new phone could also have an adjustable OLED YOUM display screen measuring 5.3 inches.
The leather bottom comes as a surprise, since many people thought Samsung was going to opt for devices with metal backs following its acquisition with Catcher, a Taiwanese metal casing maker that provides metal materials for Apple iPads, MacBooks, and HTC one Galaxy s5 info reported.
"We have received exclusive information from our sources close to Samsung which reveals that the metal material supplied by Catcher will not be used in Galaxy S5," Galaxy s5 info said in a statement on their website.
Samsung will instead use the metal material in their series of Galaxy F series or its line of Android devices. The company expects to unveil this new product in the second fiscal quarter next year.
According to the International Business Times, after receiving criticism about putting plastics on its more upscale phone products, the company states the plastic chassis or enclosure will be more effective.
The new features and options are not set in stone.
