Pie Five Pizza is coming to Houston early next year according to a company press release on Restaurant News.
"Houston is the natural next step for Pie Five's expansion, now that we have a solid and rapidly expanding base of restaurants in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and more than 100 franchise units under contract in 11 states," Chris Smith, Pie Five vice president of operations said in a statement. "It's not an exaggeration to say that we're changing the way people experience pizza, and I have no doubt our friends in the Bayou City will love what we're bringing to their area."
The location will be the first of many the company is doing throughout the city as part of a major expansion to meet the demand for fresh dining options and artisan pizzas in upscale environments without having to wait for long periods of time.
The company is famous for giving customers the option to make and personalize their own pizza. Customers can choose from over a million combinations of handcrafted pizzas and a variety of specialty pie choices, which are made in less than five minutes.
Currently, the franchise pizza chain has 12 restaurants in Texas, and one in Kansas, North Carolina, and Utah. There are 105 total franchised locations overall including Florida, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Texas, Utah and Virginia.
According to the company's press release, the first Pie Five was established in Dallas in 2011. The company was named a "Top Restaurant Brand of the Year" for 2013, a 2012 Hot Concepts winner by Nations Restaurant News, and one of 10 Hot New Restaurant Chains from Established Brands by Forbes.
