Fans still need to wait several months before "Deadpool" hits the theaters, but there are already rumors coming out that it will have a sequel.
The trailer of the upcoming Marvel movie was released last month and it featured Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson, or more known as Deadpool. Check out the video here.
During an interview with Collider, producer Simon Kinberg revealed what fans can expect in the movie.
"I have seen a rough cut of 'Deadpool' and it's fantastic. It's a really good movie. It delivers on the promise of the trailer," he said.
"We really committed and leaned into it being R-rated. It's just darker and edgier and weirder in the best way - like 'Deadpool' should be - than any other movie in the genre," Kinberg added.
The 42-year-old screenwriter and film producer is best known for his work in the "X-Men" film franchise.
Apart from revealing some details about the movie, Simon also addressed the "Deadpool 2" rumors.
"We certainly are talking about the sequel - we were talking about the sequel while we were making the movie just because when you make a film like this that's from a serialized source material, you hope that it's the first of many," he admitted.
"But yeah [Fox is] feeling good about it, we're all feeling really proud of it, so hopefully before it comes out we will be well into the process of figuring out a sequel," the producer confirmed.
Fans of the fictional antihero may be getting an early treat if the producers decide to push through with the second installment.
So what can viewers expect in "Deadpool 2"? Tim Miller hinted that Cable could appear in the sequel.
"There aren't really many definitive 'Deadpool' villains, apart from Cable," the director told Empire. "If we don't put Cable in 'Deadpool 2' I think we'll be run out of town on a rail."
Simon Kinberg confirmed that there is a possibility that Nathan Summers will be part of the sequel.
"It's certainly come up because he's such a big character in the world," he admitted. "And it's a character that I've always wanted to do in one form or another, we talked about Cable actually in 'Days of Future Past' at one point."
Since the producers are still in the early stages of "Deadpool 2" talks, fans can focus first "Deadpool" which is scheduled for release on Feb. 4, 2016.
