A few weeks after Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner announced their divorce, the actor's cheating scandal with their former nanny emerged.
According to Us Weekly, the former couple had a 10-month trial separation and it was during that time that the 43-year-old actor had an affair with Christine Ouzounian.
However, Ben's representative claimed that the rumors are not true.
"All allegations of a romantic relationship are baseless and untrue," his rep said. Despite his denial, photos of him together with the 28-year-old Arizona State University grad emerged.
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner's relationship got worse after the actor's cheating scandal with their former nanny came out.
Thankfully, the two decided to attend a couple's therapy session and they were spotted looking more relaxed after they stepped out of the counseling centre.
That may have made it easier for the star of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" to open up to his estranged wife.
According to Radar Online, Ben recently made a confession to Jen and asked for forgiveness.
"Ben took responsibility for his relationship with their former nanny, Christine Ouzounian," their insider said.
"The relationship had started after the couple had already split up, but Jen was humiliated when the relationship went public," their source explained. According to the website, the Hollywood heartthrob and their former nanny became close during his divorce drama but he never expected it to end up in a romance.
"Christine often complained to Ben that Jen was being overly critical of her work with their three kids," their source shared. "Jen had felt that she was being unfairly attacked by Ben, and couldn't understand why at the time. They were trying to co-parent their kids but Ben was just being a real bear to deal with. Now she realizes what was really going on."
If the cheating scandal didn't come out, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner's divorce wouldn't look that messy.
"Ben was truly sorry when he apologized to Jen, and she thought it was a very good step moving forward," their insider revealed.
While the former couple tried to fix their relationship for their children, Christine Ouzounian was allegedly busy finding an agent to help her star in a reality TV show.
