| By

Subway restaurants is offering customers a $6 buffalo chicken foot-long sandwich for the month of August as a way to spice things up in hot and hazy days of August according to its website.

"Kick things up all August long," the company's website reads.

It's not known if the $1 increase, plus whatever tax may apply on the special, is temporary or will be instituted permanently in the future according to foodbeast.com.

The new 420 calorie and 15 grams of fat sandwich is filled with grilled chicken strips, covered in buffalo sauce over creamy ranch dressing on a choice of whole wheat or white bread which can be toasted or left regular.

The latest food item is one of the new items currently on the menu. Others include the 430 calorie and nine grams of fat Applewood Pulled Pork sandwich dipped in barbecue sauce. Customers can have red onions, and pickles or other items depending on what a customer chooses such as cucumbers, lettuce, tomato, mustard, mayonnaise, or an assortment of dressings like ranch.

Customers can still purchase the franchise's $4 lunch deal and $3 custom breakfast combos at all locations throughout the United States. The six-inch sub sandwich with a 20-ounce soda $4 deal, and three dollar breakfast sub with a coffee or soda is also available.

The regular $5 footlongs such as the Black Forest Ham, Bacon Lettuce, and Tomato, the Cold Cut Combo, Veggie Delite, and Egg and Cheese will continue at their original price plus tax.

All are available in either half-sub form or footlong, and can be purchased with fountain drinks of different sizes and/or chips such as Doritos and Sun Chips, and the company's own cookies like chocolate chip, and sugar.
