Wendy's Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger Hits Stores

| By

If you stop by Wendy's this week, you will have one extra menu item to select from. The fast food joint has officially announced the Wendy's Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger on Monday.

The Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger is the latest in a recent string of new burgers that has included Dave's Hot 'n Juicy Cheeseburger, the W Burger and the double-patty Baconator. The new burger begins selling in stores today, Monday, June 24 and should be available nationwide by early-July.

And while the Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger is currently only available through the summer, it could end up on Wendy's permanent menu if it's a hit nationally.

According to USA Today, Cleveland was one of the test markets for the pretzel bacon burger, which has been gaining popularity via social media.

"This is the most anticipated new product in recent history," Craig Bahner, Wendy's chief marketing officer, told the USA Today. The initial rollout is a limited-time offer through the summer.

"This is the ultimate mash-up of three American loves: pretzel, bacon and cheeseburger," Bahner added.

The Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger is priced at $4.69, which is slightly above the intro price for the Dave's Hot 'n Juicy Cheeseburger in September 2011.
