Hugh Jackman announced back in May that he'll be giving up his claws after "Wolverine 3" - so there's a lot of pressure in making his last film the best amongst the series.
So how can they do that? During an interview with Sydney Confidential podcast, the 46-year-old actor revealed some major spoilers that will thrill die-hard Marvel fans.
"There were lots of calls for Victor Creed to come back," Jackman said.
Also known as Sabretooth, he is the half brother of James 'Logan' Howlett. Tyler Mane played the character in "X-Men" (2000) while Live Schreiber portrayed the role in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" (2009). Sabretooth is an animalistic mutant that has super strength, enhanced senses, cat-like claws, and sharp teeth.
Speaking of animalistic mutant, fans may see a wilder side of Logan's alter ego.
"The words 'berserker rage' came up a lot," Hugh Jackman said. "If you know Wolverine, you'll understand."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, those two words refers to a moment wherein the animalistic side of Wolverine takes over thus leaving a violent, savage, and mindless creature that's dangerous to friends and foes.
This side of Logan hasn't been shown yet in the previous films so there's a possibility that people will see a scarier Wolverine in the third and maybe final installment. This is likely to happen as Hugh Jackman teased about Mark Millar's storyline.
According to Comic Book, "Old Man Logan" is a comic book story that takes place in the future where Wolverine is the last remaining X-Men member. He lives with his family in peace, but that ended when people from his past tried to track him down. Wolverine hasn't fought in 50 years, but his claws finally came out as he seeks revenge for the death of his loved ones.
It is still unsure who will play Sabretooth, but what's been confirmed is the appearance of Patrick Stewart's character Professor Charles Xavier in "Wolverine 3." The 75-year-old actor also teased about the "Old Man Logan" storyline during an interview with Collider.
"I'm really looking forward to Hugh Jackman getting old," Stewart jokingly said. "You know, damn him. He looks so great! So I'm hoping to see him covered in prosthetics, you know? And then he'll make me look better if that's the case."
"Wolverine 3" is scheduled for release in 2017 so there's still a lot of time to add in more awesome characters in the movie.
