Hugh Jackman confirmed a few months ago that "Wolverine 3" will be the last time that he'll play Logan.
"It is my last time, I just felt... It felt like it was the right time to do it," he told Dr. Oz during his guest appearance. "Let's be honest, 17 years. I never thought in a million years it would last this long," the Aussie actor explained.
After making that announcement, many fans are wondering which "X-Men" character will appear in the sequel. What's only been confirmed is that James Mangold will be directing the film and Michael Green will be working on the script.
When it comes to the cast, none has been confirmed yet not until recently when Patrick Stewart confirmed his involvement in the sequel.
The 75-year-old actor starred as Professor Charles Xavier in the "X-Men" film series and fans will see him reprise his role together with Hugh Jackman in "Wolverine 3."
There were rumors that Sir Patrick Stewart may make a cameo in the third installment and he revealed that fans will see more of him in the movie.
"I think what you say is true. There is a project in development," he told Collider. "I understand that Professor Xavier will be making more than an appearance, however, and that intrigues me." The English veteran actor also addressed the "Old Man Logan" storyline rumors.
"And the idea of an old Wolverine - I'm really looking forward to Hugh Jackman getting old," Stewart confessed. "You know, damn him. He looks so great! So I'm hoping to see him covered in prosthetics, you know? And then he'll make me look better if that's the case."
The 46-year-old actor also hinted that "Wolverine 3" will be based on Mark Millar's storyline.
"I've got three words for you guys: Old Man Logan," Jackman said as reported by Comic Book. "As I promised, this next time is my last time putting on the claws, it's one last time," he added.
