Sloan's Ice Cream has announced a franchise agreement that will bring its sweet treats to Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
The company has sold six units in California. Five are in southern California and one is in northern California, said owner Sloan Kamenstein.
The West Palm Beach-based company has signed a franchise agreement with South Florida business owners and entrepreneurs David and Debra Olmo, according to the South Florida Business Journal. Sloan's Ice Cream is a hot-pink ice cream parlor that offers a signature range of sweets and treats.
The Olmos have acquired the development rights to build and operate Sloan's Ice Cream stores throughout the Miami and Fort Lauderdale area, as well as in Key West and Delray Beach. Their agreement calls for opening 10 new South Florida Sloan's locations initially, with an opportunity to add on more units.
"My husband and I live and breathe our business ventures - we're thrilled to be expanding a concept that brings smiles to the faces of countless of families and visitors every year," Debra Olmo said in a statement. "Given the tremendous success and proven model of the Sloan's shops across Palm Beach County, we are confident this will make major waves in our South Florida markets."
Sloan's Ice Cream announced its franchise offerings in August 2012. Its franchises include a one-time franchise fee of $40,000, a weekly royalty fee of 6 percent of gross sales and a national advertising fund fee of 1 percent of gross sales, the company said at the time.
