Chipotle Mexican Grill has announced that it will be having its first-ever National Career Day on September 9, 2015, according to a press release issued by Chipotle.
The Sept. 9 event aims to hire 4,000 new employees.
The National Career Day gives interested applicants, who want to work for Chipotle, a chance to be interviewed on site with the manager, according to the press release.
Candidates can visit NationalCareerDay.com and register for an interview at their preferred Chipotle location.
Monty Moran, co-CEO at Chipotle, said in the press release that he hopes the National Career Day will attract "job-seekers looking to further their career and join a dynamic team."
"We are constantly looking for great people to join our team," he said. "Working here isn't just a job, but a career where employees learn how to make others better, run a successful business, master culinary skills, and most importantly, lead teams of top performers."
Chipotle offers its employees the opportunity to advance in their careers, and an above industry standard compensation and benefits, according to the press release.
More than 95 percent of the company's restaurant managers are promoted within.
The company also provides their managers, who perform at a high level, the opportunity to be promoted to Restaurateur, according to the press release.
The Restaurateur has benefits such as company car and a six-figure salary.
The Wall Street Journal adds that the Chipotle's National Career Day is a simple example of restaurant chain's increased effort in recruiting employees.
The industry has been struggling to attract and retain employees.
The Wall Street Journal added that the struggle is due to the decreasing number of available workers for hire, caused by several factors.
The decrease of available workers is caused by a stronger economy, rising demand for restaurant meals, and an imposed increases in minimum wages by certain cities and states.
"The economy has been thawing, more restaurants are opening, and there are fewer job applicants than there were several years ago," Moran told The Wall Street Journal.
Chipotle currently employs more than 60,000 people, according to the press release.
