People who missed the chance to try out for Pizza Hut's social media director will have another chance today to attend a speed interview via Google Plus Hangouts. The time is limited to 140 seconds, which happens to be the limit of characters allowed in a tweet.
Candidates for the position should be familiar with all social media, have problem-solving capabilities and able to use Google Analytics and other metrics.
Pizza Hut, owned by Yum Brands, is one of the larger and more successful pizza franchises. Its iconic stores continue to succeed despite the roller-coaster recession that has hit pizza chains in both positive and negative ways.
The chain is showing how to stay active and engaged with customers in their unique search. By allowing candidates only 140 seconds to interview, they are able to meet many people in one session as well as focus on the key strengths of the candidate during the meeting. Pizza Hut debuted the method at this year's SXSW conference.
Interviews on Google Plus Hangouts will run on March 14 from 1 to 3 p.m. The new hire will be chosen after all candidates are interviewed.
