Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie got married last year and instead of having a romantic honeymoon together, the couple decided to shoot their latest film "By the Sea."
It took more than 10 years since the husband and wife starred in one film. They couple first met on the set of "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" back in 2005 and that's where their relationship also allegedly developed.
According to Entertainment Weekly, "By the Sea" was filmed in the island of Goza in Malta last August. The movie was written and directed by Angie; and she recently talked about how they tried to bring out the heavier moments in the film.
"We watch this couple go off the track and we wait to see if it gets more unhealthy, or if they will recover," the 40-year-old actress said. "I think too often people go through very painful transformative experiences and they don't stay together. They abandon each other."
Angelina Jolie admitted that she and her husband Brad Pitt had faced some darker moments.
"It was an emotionally charged set," she confessed. "Even though the characters are very different from us, when you act you still express real emotion."
Thankfully, their kids were with them while filming "By the Sea" so they helped them get out of their character.
"It's impossible to bring your work home with you when you have to snap out of it for your children," the actress explained. "It wasn't easy for either of us, but when we walked away, we were closer than we had been."
In a separate interview with DGA, Angelina Jolie Pitt shared her and Brad Pitt's toughest moment in the film.
"I'd be directing myself and him in a scene where we're having a fight, and I'd be pulling out the parts [of him] that have an aggression toward me or when you're frustrated with each other-it was very heavy," she said. "We kept joking that all of the crew felt like they were living in a house where the parents were fighting and you don't know where to stand or where to look."
"By The Sea" hits the theaters on Nov. 13. Check out the teaser below:
