There have been rumors coming out that "Wolverine 3" will be based on Mark Millar's "Old Man Logan" storyline.

The speculation started from El Mayimbe and was reported by Slash Film last month. However, the source said that he's still looking into it so nothing's confirmed yet during that time.

Just recently, Hugh Jackman spilled out a major spoiler at the Comic-Con International in San Diego. The final section of the Fox movies panel was all about the "X-Men" film franchise. The Aussie movie star talked about his long journey playing Logan and revealed that "Wolverine 3" will be his last film portraying that role.

The 46-year-old actor also teased the fans the possible plot of the third sequel. "I've got three words for you guys: Old Man Logan," Jackman said as reported by Comic Book. "As I promised, this next time is my last time putting on the claws, it's one last time," he added.

According to the website, "Old Man Logan" is a comic book story that takes place in the future where Wolverine is the last remaining X-Men member. He lives with his family in peace, but that ended when people from his past tried to track him down.

Based on Marvel Wikia, Wolverine was forced to get a job from a blind, elderly Hawkeye to pay his rent from Hulk's descendants. The mutant superhero told shared his story with Hawkeye including the time that he tried to commit suicide.

After completing his task of killing the Red Skull, Logan returned to his family but was shocked when he found out that the Hulk Gang killed his family. His claws finally came out after 50 years to seek revenge for the death of his loved ones. He wiped out the clan except for Baby Bruce Banner, who became part of his team.

Of course, the "Old Man Logan" storyline may be different in the movies, but the plot definitely suits Hugh Jackman's retirement from playing Logan. See the actor put on his claws for the last time in "Wolverine 3" which is scheduled for release on March 3, 2017.
