DC Cinematic Universe confirmed last month that they are pushing through with the "Green Lantern" reboot.
The movie will be called "Green Lantern Corps," but they haven't revealed the cast of the upcoming Warner Bros. film yet.
Based on the comic books, the Green Lantern Corps is an intergalactic police force that patrols the 3600 sectors of the universe. Thus, fans may see more than one Green Lantern in the movie.
Latest reports revealed that Lance Gross may be joining the cast of the reboot. The 34-year-old actor teased his followers on Instagram when he posted a green wreath that is shaped like the Green Lantern ring and captioned it, "In Brightest Day."
Many fans were thrilled when they saw his post hinting that he will be playing the DC superhero.
"Perfect pick.. Hope this comes into fruition bro!!" brooklynsgentleman wrote. "I support this. You've got the look, can act and most importantly, you aren't Tyrese. Good luck Lantern," razzlovesdanger commented.
Some people are wondering if he is just promoting himself to get the role or he already got it and just teasing his fans.
"Unlike Tyrese Gibson or Vin Diesel or other actors who have basically self-promoted their way into alleged contention or actual consideration for a role or a part in a given franchise, Lance Gross is not remotely a household name," Scott Mendelson of Forbes said.
The actor is best known for his role as Calvin Payne in Tyler Perry's "House of Payne" which aired from 2007 to 2012. If the TV star gets to wear one of the green rings, then the "Green Lantern" reboot will be his first major Hollywood film.
He may also join Tyrese Gibson, who's also been busy teasing his followers on Instagram that he'll be playing the superhero.
The "Furious 7" star shared a cartoon version of himself wearing the green suit on Instagram and wrote,
"#TheOath has been taken..... I'm fully committed to the process..... And on behalf of the fans I won't stop looking into this role until we get there! My biggest and only motivation is you the fans who are determined to put me in this seat... When you recognize that some people are afraid of change they would rather go back to the familiar, to have over 6 billion dollars in the global office fans are here and have been demanding to see the new #GreenLantern."
