‘Deadpool’ New Trailer Featured Colossus And Negasonic! Daniel Cudmore Turned Down Tim Miller

| By

The new trailer for "Deadpool" dropped a few days ago and fans were thrilled when they saw Ryan Reynolds' kickass stunts.

What got many of them excited as well was the appearance of "X-Men" mutants Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead.

During an interview with Empire, director Tim Miller talked about the new Marvel Cinematic Universe characters that will be appearing in the movie.

Piotr Nikolaievitch Rasputin, or also known as Colossus, was included in the script that leaked online so the filmmaker said that they couldn't get the character to be a secret anymore.

"I wasn't actually sure, until we were standing there shooting it, that at some point Fox was going to say, 'Hold on a second; we can't put Colossus from our treasured X-Men franchise in this movie to be made fun of!' But they did, and not only that, but also they let me change the look of him," Miller explained.

"As a fanboy I've always been like, 'That dude with the shiny skin is not fucking Colossus.' He should be this monstrous guy, and they actually let me make him seven-and-a-half feet tall," he added. The superhero was played by Daniel Cudmore in three Marvel movies so many fans were hoping to see him alongside Ryan Reynolds in "Deadpool" but he declined the role.

"I did actually call Daniel Cudmore to ask him if he wanted to do this, even though he'd be entirely CG the whole time. He was very nice about it. He was like, 'I appreciate your offering, but nah,'" the "Thor: The Dark World" director said.

The 34-year-old actor tried to explain why he didn't accept the role.

"I did get a call for Colossus but it was CGI/stunts and not using my voice so I graciously passed. Love 2 play him in the future as an actor," Cudmore wrote on Twitter. "Really looking forward to @deadpoolmovie as I was such a fan of the leaked script and can't wait to see what Tim Miller did with it," he added.

The director also revealed that Garrison Kane was supposed to be included in the film but they had to cut him off because of their limited budget.

He tried looking for a character that is both fun and spectacular visually and ended up with Ellie Phimister a.k.a. Negasonic Teenage Warhead.

"I sent this list over to the writers, Rhett (Reese) and Paul (Wernick), and they were like, 'Oh my fucking god, we have to use her!' So that's how she ended up in the movie," Tim Miller shared. "We thought about Cannonball, but he would've been a stupid hick character, whereas the guys wrote Negasonic as this deadpan goth teen, which was a great angle. She turned out really well."

"Deadpool" will hit the theaters on Feb. 12, 2016. Get a glimpse of Colossus and Negasonic in the new trailer below:
