Hooters of America, LLC announced today that Madison, Wis., Hooters Girl Rachel Fashing is named Hooters Girl of the Year 2013. This honorary title is given to one woman every year who exemplifies all of the qualities of an ideal Hooters Girl, including an impeccable image, excellent hospitality skills, and great attitude and personality.

"For nearly 10 years Rachel has exceeded everything a Hooters Girl represents and stands for with her high energy, beauty, bubbly personality and most of all her dedication to her customers to make sure every time they walk through the doors at Hooters they have a great experience. For all of these reasons, Rachel was the clear choice for Hooters Girl of the Year."
Fashing was selected by her regional team as the Hooters Girl of the quarter nominee, which she won, putting her in the running for Hooters Girl of the Year. She and the other Hooters Girl of the Year finalists were flown to Atlanta to interview with executive leaders, who ultimately selected Fashing to represent the company.
Fashing has a public relations degree from St. Cloud University and when she is not donning her orange shorts, she volunteers at the Dane County Humane Society (DCHS) as an event planner and publicist. In her role, she has organized several fundraising events, many that have involved Hooters, to raise money and awareness for DCHS.
During one of her DCHS fundraisers on January 7, Fashing was surprised by a visit from Hooters executives to officially notify her of her title and present her with the Hooters Girl of the Year sash.
Fashing's reign as Hooters Girl of the Year is especially significant considering the Hooters Girl as an international icon is "turning 29 again" in 2013. Fashing will be an important part of the company's anniversary celebrations, events and special occasions throughout the year.
During the last decade, Fashing was a Hooters Calendar girl, represented Wisconsin at the International Swimsuit Pageant in Miami, was featured in Hooters Magazine, represented Hooters on national cable news programs, and participated in many promotions, including country singer Kenny Chesney's concert tour.
For being named Hooters Girl of the Year, Fashing receives $4,000 in cash as well as a spotlight in Hooters Magazine. Her duties in 2013 will include upholding to the highest standard the Hooters Girl image, hospitality and positive attitude. She will serve as a Hooters Image Ambassador at image workshops throughout the country, represent Hooters at special events and set an example of maturity and teamwork to her fellow Hooters Girls.
