The Cheesecake Factory announced that its first international licensee, Alshaya Trading Co., W.L.L., opened its newest Cheesecake Factory restaurant in the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai on December 31, 2012. Occupying approximately 22,800 square feet with 526 seats, the new restaurant has the distinction of being the largest The Cheesecake Factory in the world.
The new restaurant is located in the Mall of the Emirates adjacent to the world-renowned Ski Dubai slope, and features The Cheesecake Factory's distinctive décor that is as creative and imaginative as its extensive menu of more than 200 selections - all made fresh, from scratch, in-house - and more than 50 signature cheesecakes and desserts.
This is the third Cheesecake Factory restaurant that has opened outside of the United States under The Cheesecake Factory's licensing agreement with Alshaya. Additional restaurant openings earlier this year include the Dubai Mall in the United Arab Emirates and The Avenues Mall in Kuwait.
Alshaya's exclusive Gulf States' licensing agreement with The Cheesecake Factory provides for the development of its restaurants across the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The agreement also gives Alshaya the opportunity to expand The Cheesecake Factory into its other operating markets in the Middle East, North Africa, Russia, Turkey and Europe.
