Katy Perry and John Mayer's relationship is just like her latest song "Hot and Cold" because the two have been getting it on and then calling it quits twice.
The two reunited early this year, but they recently split up again according to E! News.
Their source didn't reveal the reason why the couple decided to split up, but there's still a possibility that they'll get back together in the future.
The breakup rumors started back in March and the reason was their busy schedule, but there seems to be more than just their work that affected their relationship.
"Katy and John reconnected once she had a break in her Prismatic World Tour. So, for those few months they had a great time, pretending that it would last - and of course it didn't," an insider told Radar Online.
The 30-year-old singer and the 37-year-old musician just couldn't handle their relationship and careers at the same time.
"The reason they have split in the past is because Katy gets busy," their source revealed. The "Roar" hitmaker will continue her world tour on September. "John can't handle the lack of attention, and she can't handle the trust issues she has when she's so far away," the insider explained. "So they've learned that it's better to just take a break when they can't be in the same place."
Apart from the lack of time, sources also revealed that John Mayer felt insecure of Katy Perry's success. "The fact that he does not have anything major going on with his career is really starting to take a toll on their relationship," the insider said.
Katy's issue, on the other hand, is lack of trust. The "Fireworks" hitmaker has caught the "XO" singer cheating on her last year.
The songstress was devastated about what happened and even admitted that she needs to seek professional help to move on and get over John Mayer.
"What I've learned is that if you don't have the foundation of self-love first, you really have nowhere to pull love from to give it away," Katy Perry said as reported by Radar Online. "I had to learn about taking care of myself before I could take care of others. I want to mommy everyone. I want to take care of them. I want to save them, and I forget myself in the meantime."
