Sony and Marvel have already found their Peter Parker for the "Spider-Man" reboot, but there are still some people who doubt their decision.
The producers were reportedly impressed by Tom Holland's performance in "The Impossible", "Wolf Hall," and "In the Heart of the Sea." The 19-year-old actor also passed a series of complex screen tests.
However, one of the writers of "The Fault In Our Stars" think that Nat Wolff would have been a better Spider-Man. During the premiere of "Paper Towns" which stars the 20-year-old actor together with Cara Delevingne, Scott Neutstadter and Michael H. Weber can't help but praise their lead star.
"When Fox said they're building this movie [Paper Towns] around Nat, we were like, 'We're in.' We love Nat. There's nothing he can't do," Weber told Variety. "He could have been an amazing Spider-Man," Neustadter added.
"You know what that means? We have another opportunity to write another movie with Nat," Weber teased. "We'll go see 'Spider-Man' with Nat and talk about how much better it would have been with Nat in it." Neustadter added.
Back in April, Nat Wolff addressed the "Spider-Man" rumors during an interview with MTV. "I honestly don't know anything about Spider-Man," he confessed. "I have no idea. I plead the fifth!" Apart from the star of "Behaving Badly," there were many young actors who were rumored to be the next Peter Parker including Asa Butterfield and Charlie Rowe.
"My little cousin was the one who told me [about the rumors]. Six hours ago, he texted me, 'Hey man, are you going to be Spider-Man?'" Wolff revealed. Too bad he didn't get the role, but the producers may have a good reason for getting Tom Holland for the reboot.
"Sony, Marvel, Kevin [Feige] and I all knew that for Peter Parker, we had to find a vibrant, talented young actor capable of embodying one of the most well-known characters in the world," Amy Pascal said as reported by Marvel. "With Tom, we've found the perfect actor to bring Spider-Man's story into the Marvel Cinematic Universe."
