‘Spider-Man’ Reboot Will Be Hilarious? ‘Vacation’ And ‘Horrible Bosses’ Writers Set To Work On The Script! Kevin Feig Wants People To See The Funny Side Of The Superhero

| By

Marvel and Sony have already found the right actor and director for "Spider-Man" reboot.

They announced that Tom Holland will be starring as Peter Parker in the movie that will be directed by Jon Watts. The 19-year-old actor is known for his performance in "The Impossible" while the 34-year-old director is famous for his work in "Clowns" and "Cop Car."

Just recently, the producers have reportedly found the perfect scriptwriters for the remake. According to Deadline, John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein are being set to write the new "Spider-Man" movie for Marvel and Sony.

The website also reported that the "Vacation" and "Horrible Bosses" writer-directors were shortlisted to direct the reboot, but Jon Watts got the job.

Daley and Goldstein also wrote the script of "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone" and co-wrote "Cloudy with a Chance Of Meatballs 2." Since their forte is more on comedies, fans may see a lighter and funnier "Spider-Man" on July 28, 2017.

During an interview with IGN (via The Hollywood Reporter) back in April, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige suggested that fans should expect more comedy in Spider-Man's next incarnation. "When he puts that mask on, in the comics, he has a nonstop wit that's almost as troubling to the bad guys he fights as his webs and agility," he said. "We feel we haven't really seen that yet."

Marvel's head honcho also compared the "Spider-Man" reboot to a successful superhero film remake. "Batman was the same way; there had been four Batman movies, and then 'Batman Begins' was able to do something unique and tap into something that hadn't been seen before in the movies," Feige said. "It's a similar thing, obviously tonally completely different from Batman, but we're very excited about any number of things about Spidey and his standalone adventures."

With Marvel and Sony teaming up for "Spider-Man" reboot, they have a good reason why they chose John Francis Daley and Jonathan G. Goldstein to write the script - and that could be their funny stories. They said that Tom Holland is a "vibrant and talented actor" while Jon Watts is an "outstanding talent."
