Dunkin' Donuts announced Monday the signing of a multi-unit store development agreement with new franchise group, Coffee Action West, LLC, for 21 traditional Dunkin' Donuts restaurants and three Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin-Robbins combination units in the Austin, Texas, Metro Area.
Meanwhile, the company announced last week 12 new airport locations planned for 2013, including the brand's debut at Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans; Dallas' Love Field Airport; Houston's George Bush International Airport; Des Moines International Airport in Iowa; and Chicago's Midway Airport.
Dunkin' Donuts currently has nearly 90 airport locations.
"We are excited to expand Dunkin' Donuts' presence in the Austin Metro Area and play an important role in the daily lives of people who live, work and visit here," said Dale Mulvey, Dunkin' Donuts franchisee. "We have a passion and loyalty for the brand and look forward to the opening of our Dunkin' Donuts restaurants in the years to come."
Additionally, the company is anticipating a holiday rush at its more than 50 train and bus terminal locations, as 84 million people are expected to travel in the coming weeks. Highway travelers also have the opportunity to visit Dunkin' Donuts at numerous travel centers on Florida's Turnpike, the Maryland Turnpike, the Connecticut Turnpike, Merit Parkway, the Kansas Turnpike and more.
"Airport and other non-traditional locations continue to be strong growth areas for Dunkin' Donuts," said Grant Benson, CFE, vice president of development at Dunkin' Brands. "Guests love the convenience of grabbing their favorite coffee or baked goods wherever their busy travel schedules may take them, and our franchisees enjoy the flexibility of these sites."
