It's been more than two years since Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson split up, but most of the "Twilight" fans still link the two actors even if they have already moved on from each other.
The romance of the two actors is as controversial and complicated as the relationship of their characters Edward Cullen and Bella Swan in Stephenie Meyer's film adaptation.
During an interview with Marie Claire, the 25-year-old actress finally opened up about her experience as a rising young star.
"Speaking very candidly," she says, "it was a really traumatic period in my early 20s that kick-started something in me that was a bit more feral."
Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson were one of the hottest couples back then, but their relationship ended when she was caught cheating on the actor with her "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders.
Her public image was tainted, but she was able to overcome all trials. "I'm really proud that I am able to move forward and not fall into every mental crater," Kristen said. "That's a new thing for me. Age has made me smarter and calmer. And it is fucking awesome."
After the cheating scandal came out, Kristen Stewart made a public apology to her former boyfriend Robert Pattinson. However, times have changed and she's ready to face all the consequences of her actions. "Lately, I've been doing less of the 'I'm sooooo sorry.' And more of the 'No. F**k. Jesus,'" she said.
The "Still Alice" actress gained fame at a very young age; having starred as Jodi Foster's daughter in the critically-acclaimed thriller "Panic Room" when she was just 12 years old. Since then, Stewart has appeared in several movies including "The Runaways", "Adventureland", and "The Twilight Saga" film series.
"Between ages 15 and 20, it was really intense. I was constantly anxious. I was kind of a control freak," the actress confessed. "If I didn't know how something was going to turn out, I would make myself ill, or just be locked up or inhibited in a way that was really debilitating."
Thankfully, Kristen Stewart has become more confident with her own image and relationships. Her mother Jules Stewart even revealed that the actress is now happy in her relationship with Alicia Cargile and remains good friend with her ex-boyfriend Robert Pattinson.
