Starbucks introduced its most expensive cup of coffee which is from Costa Rica Finca Palmilera and will retail for $7 a cup.
The new coffee will be available in 48 of its U.S. stores, and half of those stores are in Seattle.
The coffee is Costa Rica Finca Palmilera and is made from a rare coffee variety called Geisha, which is found in Central America and is famously difficult to cultivate, according to a Huffington Post report. Starbucks is also selling eight-ounce bags for $40.
The Seattle Post-Intelligencer's Seattle's Big Blog writes that the coffee, which is part of Starbucks' limited-edition, specialty "Reserve" line, is already proving popular.
Meanwhile, comedian and host Jimmy Kimmel decided to prank people with a "taste test" on his late night show. He set up a table in Los Angeles and asked random people to sample two cups of coffee and see if they could guess which Starbucks regular cup is and which is the new $7 cup.
In a funny twist, Kimmel confesses that both cups are just regular coffee. One after one, the unsuspecting tasters each select one over the other, claiming it has a richer, fuller or bolder flavor. Finally, one man at the end says plainly that they both taste the same.
