Did Jerry Seinfeld Convince Hugh Jackman To Quit Wolverine? Aussie Actor Will Play Logan For The Last Time! ‘He Said You Should Finish On A High Note’

Hugh Jackman announced last month that he will be playing Logan for the last time in "Wolverine 3" which saddened most of his fans.

The 46-year-old actor has been portraying one of the most significant characters in the "X-Men" franchise for more than a decade.

During his guest appearance at "The Dr. Oz Show," the Aussie actor confirmed that he will finally give up his claws.

"It is my last time, I just felt... It felt like it was the right time to do it," Jackman said. "Let's be honest, 17 years. I never thought in a million years it would last this long."

Fans were shocked when they heard the news and wondered what made him decide to quit playing Wolverine. During an interview with the show "Live with Kelly and Michael," Hugh Jackman mentioned the name of Jerry Seinfeld who could have been the reason why he chose to retire from playing Logan.

"I was having a chat with him about a year ago at his birthday, and he was talking about why he finished the end of the series and how it was riding high," he said as reported by Cinema Blend. "And he said he just always had this feeling, a belief, that you never know when either your energy or the audience's energy is going to dip over into, 'Please go!' He said you should finish on a high note."

Jerry Seinfeld decided to quit the award-winning television series "Seinfeld" after nine seasons. During that time, the show's ratings were still high which surprised everyone why the actor decided to retire.

While he was chatting with the comedian, the "Chappie" actor realized that it is about time that he gives up his role.

Since "Wolverine 3" will be like a farewell movie for Hugh Jackman, the Hollywood superstar showed no signs of sadness. He instead revealed how excited he was to give out his last performance as Logan in the third installment which will be directed by James Mangold who also worked on the 2013 "The Wolverine."

"It's the greatest feeling," Jackman said. "I'm more excited about this movie than ever before, and I just know in my gut it's the right thing, and hopefully in five years I'm not coming back here and going, 'Why did I do that?'" "Wolverine 3" is scheduled for release on March 3, 2017.
