Marvel's latest offering "Ant-Man" will hit the theaters on July 17, but fans still get awesome surprises from the studio.
A few weeks ago, Kevin Feige revealed to MTV that the Wasp will appear in Paul Rudd's upcoming superhero flick. The character's real name is Janet van Dyne and she was one of the founders of the Avengers. According to Wikia, the Wasp and the other founders were the ones who discovered Captain America who was then frozen.
Apart from the Wasp, another Avengers member is confirmed to appear in "Ant-Man." Fans were thrilled when they got a glimpse of Anthony Mackie's character Falcon in the latest TV spot. The 36-year-old actor has appeared in the "Avengers" and "Captain America" film series.
According to Aceshowbiz (via Business Standard), the 30-second video, originally tweeted by Marvel but quickly removed, showed that Mackie would make appearance as Falcon, teaming up with Scott Lang aka Ant-Man to help his mentor, Dr Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his suit. The latest trailer of "Ant-Man" hinted an appearance of the Avengers as Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) was heard saying: "I think our first move should be calling The Avengers." However, there isn't any confirmation yet if Falcon will team up with Ant-Man or not.
Early this year, Anthony Mackie confirmed to Screenrant that he will reprise his role Falcon in "Captain America: Civil War" which is scheduled for release in May 6, 2016. He also hinted that there's always a chance that he may appear in other Marvel movies.
"When we finished Cap 2 I asked and begged to come back, literally. So I found out when everybody else did. I got a call from my manager. He said, 'They're going to put you in Cap 3,'" the Louisiana-born actor said. "It's always a surprise with Marvel, man. If you are not one of those like Thor or Cap, then you have no idea."
The website also asked Anthony Mackie about the "Ant-Man" cameo rumors. "I heard today in one of the interviews that someone thought I was in Ant-Man. I hope so! I hope I'm in Ant-Man. I hope I'm in Hulk 3, I hope I'm in Thor 3, and Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Me and Groot can boogie!"
