Panda Restaurant Group Inc., the Asian food restaurant, announced Friday it will be raising funds through in-store and corporate donations at its Panda Express and Panda Inn locations to help those affected by Hurricane Sandy.
As of Nov.9, through Nov. 30, Panda Express and Panda Inn locations across the country will facilitate donation collections through in-store drop-boxes allowing guests to make contributions of any amount. A
Panda Restaurant Group Inc. said it will match 100 percent of the proceeds, with all donations benefiting the American Red Cross.
"We are extremely saddened by the aftermath of this disaster. Our thoughts are with those impacted by the hurricane, including our guests and employees on the east coast," said Peggy Cherng, co-chairman of PRG. "We are eager to support the relief efforts and assist the American Red Cross in rebuilding and aiding communities that were affected by the storm."
Panda Restaurant Group joins McDonalds which donated $500,000 to Red Cross to aid Hurricane Sandy victims and Dunkin Brands which donated $100,000.
