Culver's First Restaurant in the East Coast

Culver's opened its 470th restaurant this week, marking the chain's first venture to the East Coast and the 20th state of operation.

The newest restaurant, in Greenville, S.C., is owned by Jim and Heather Clark. A second restaurant is planned for Fort Mills, S.C., in 2013.

"I'm a native Midwesterner and am excited to bring Culver's great tasting food and hospitality to Greenville," Jim Clark said in a statement.

The Prairie du Sac-based company is on track to open four more restaurants before the end of the year, bringing the total number of 2012 openings to 29.
