Hugh Jackman Teases Cameo In ‘Deadpool’ And ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’! Is He Ready To Give Up Logan After ‘Wolverine 3’? ‘They’ve Already Started Casting’

| By

Hugh Jackman confirmed last month that "Wolverine 3" will be the last film that he'll play Logan, but we may see him in a few more Marvel movies before he completely retires from portraying the popular mutant character.

The 46-year-old actor made the announcement during his appearance at "The Dr. Oz Show." It is my last time, I just felt... It felt like it was the right time to do it," he said as reported by IBTNews. "Let's be honest, 17 years. I never thought in a million years it would last this long," Jackman explained.

"I'm so grateful to the fans and for the opportunity of playing him, and I love it. I kind of have, in my head, what we're going to do in this last one, and it just feels like this is the perfect way to go out," he added.

Before fans bid farewell to Hugh Jackman in "Wolverine 3" and Marvel's Cinematic Universe, they may see the Aussie heartthrob in "Deadpool" and "X-Men: Apocalypse." The Huffington Post recently asked the actor if Wolverine will make a cameo in Ryan Reynold's upcoming film, but he tried not to reveal any spoilers.

"Hmmm, I can't ... no. Nope," Hugh mumbled. "But, I am really good mates with [Reynolds] so ..." he teased. Hugh and Ryan first worked together in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" and they both hinted that they wanted to work together again.

"God I hope so, that would be really nice," Reynolds told News.com.au. "I dunno, we'll see. It seems like he's open to it, but it's gonna be more of a scheduling issue than anything else." Since the cast and crew of "Deadpool" have wrapped up filming, then there's a better chance that fans will see the two Marvel characters in "X-Men: Apocalypse." Even Hugh Jackman is open to the possibility and said "Who knows?"

The Sydney-born actor is all set to shoot "Wolverine 3" and he shared his excitement to Huffington Post. "Weirdly, I'm really excited about shooting it. I feel great enthusiasm," he said. "I suppose it's denial -- like the football player who announces their retirement before their last season - and so I'm really looking forward to it. But, I know it's not over yet!" Could that mean that he hasn't made up his mind yet?

However, Hugh Jackman revealed that Marvel Entertainment and 20th Century Fox could have already started looking for a new actor to play Wolverine. "I'm sure that they've already started casting, you know? Someone may sign up for an 11-picture deal, as we speak."

"Wolverine 3" (not the official title) is scheduled for release on March 3, 2017.
