There were rumors that Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are on the verge of a breakup. The Hollywood couple first met on the set of "The Place Beyond The Pines" which was shown in theaters in 2012.
They have been dating for four years already and has a nine-month-old daughter named Esmeralda Amada, but no definite plans for a wedding yet.
It seems that the two won't be getting married anytime soon if they don't fix their troubled relationship. According to OK! magazine, the 41-year-old actress and the 34-year-old actor are struggling to make a compromise which could eventually lead to a breakup. "They can't agree on anything," their source said.
Some of the issues that the couple is currently facing are marriage and parenting since they allegedly have different points of view. "They used to have incredible chemistry, but the fun has been sapped from their relationship," their insider revealed.
During a recent interview with the Sunday Style, Ryan Gosling dismissed all the breakup rumors when he started talking about Eva Mendes and Esmeralda Amada. The magazine asked the screen heartthrob how's it like directing his girlfriend in the "Lost River" and if he felt a lack of professional respect since they are in a relationship.
"For me, it was crucial to work in this intimate, low-budget, small way, with people I had worked with before, because I feel like in my experience that's where everyone was at their best," the actor said as reported by The Daily Telegraph. "So, it helped, was the answer to that question."
"The Notebook" star also shared the time that Eva picked the perfect costume for Matt Smith. "And that happened a lot in the film, where she indirectly picked things that became very important to different people involved. Never wanting credit," Gosling said.
"She hates credit and she'll even be mad that I'm giving her that credit. But she was very helpful in so many ways," the actor proudly added. Ryan admitted that he was raised by a single mom and surrounded by strong women, which possibly was the reason why he usually writes stories that feature strong female characters.
"It's not a conscious thing. But I do have a little girl now and it's important to me," the director said. "These things are becoming... not more important to me, but more important in general, I think." Based on Ryan Gosling's latest interview, the actor seems to be really in love with girlfriend Eva Mendes and their daughter Esmeralda Amada.
