Watch The Second Trailer Of ‘Mission Impossible 5’! Tom Cruise Held His Breath Underwater For Six Minutes! ‘It’s Something I Have Always Wanted To Do’

It took more than two months before Paramount Pictures unleashed the second trailer of "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation" but it was all worth the wait.

There were more death-defying stunts featured in the latest footage - from crazy car chases to edge-of-the-seat aerial hanging.

What's awesome about these scenes is that Tom Cruise did all of the stunts including the underwater scene wherein he had to hold his breath for a long time so the director can capture the entire sequence.

"It's something I have always wanted to do. (Director Christopher McQuarrie) and I have been thinking about it since working on 'Edge of Tomorrow,'" the 52-year-old actor told USA Today.

"I have done a lot of underwater sequences. But we wanted to create a suspense underwater sequence without cuts," Cruise explained.

"So doing that sequence was really interesting. We're underwater and we're doing breath-holds of 6 to 61/2 minutes. So I was doing all my training with the other stuff (on-set). It was very taxing stuff."

The film series is known for its amazing stunts and Tom Cruise couldn't have done them without help from the experts.

"When you're making 'Mission' movies you're working with athletes and stunt people at the height of their game," the actor that plays Ethan Hunt said.

Many people admire the Hollywood actor for doing his own stunts, but he admitted that he also gets scared sometimes when shooting some risky scenes.

During a press junket at the CinemaCon, Tom Cruise admitted that he got stressed out filming the Airbus stunt which can be seen on the last part of the "Mission Impossible 5" second trailer.

"I was actually scared shitless," the screen heartthrob confessed as reported by Sydney Morning Herald. "I was in a harness, on my side, that was kind of loose so you can see the vibration of my body against the plane."

Tom Cruise also revealed that he shot the stunt eight times and the second take almost got him into an accident.

"I got hit by just a little particle," he admitted. "I literally thought it broke my ribs."

"Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation" is scheduled for release on July 31, 2015. The movie stars Tom Cruise (Ethan Hunt), Simon Pegg (Benji Dunn), Rebecca Ferguson (Ilsa), Jeremy Renner (William Brandt), and Ving Rhames (Luther Stickell). Check out the second trailer below:
